Sarah Harney (pictured centre) - IV Degree Black belt, club owner and head instructor - Safeguarding and child protection lead. Recently joined as a member of International Taekwondo Federation GB with Master Catherine Divine - VIII degree.

 

Serving the communities of Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire since January 2019, our aim is to provide family friendly Taekwondo classes for all - regardless of age, gender and ability. Endeavour is an independant ITF school enjoying happy associations with many Masters and Organisations globally - just browse our gallery to see how many you can spot!

Sarah Harney is a IV degree black belt in ITF Taekwondo, European and World championship medalist and international instructor. Endeavour Taekwondo was created by Sarah as a safe venue to learn martial arts for all ages. Sarah has a fantastic team of assistant Instructors and coaches ensuring quality teaching and safety in the training environment. The club has accreditation from the Safeguarding in  Martial Arts believing safety and student welfare is paramount. This can be viewed 
on their website.://www.safeguardingcode.com/ and Endeavour is affiliated with This Girl Can supporting girls and women in the sport (see additional classes and information in the site pages). Endeavour Taekwondo also supports the fantastic work done by founder and UK Student National Squad Head Coach Ross Sharman for the British University Taekwondo League https://www.butl.org.uk/team. Often supporting the events sending competitors, assistants and umpires to support Ross and his team. 

Endeavours Team:

Aidan Harney (pictured on the right) is a third degree black belt in ITF taekwondo and is also kick-boxing practioner. Aidan is a national champion in taekwondo. 

William Harney (pictured on the left) is a first degree black belt in ITF Taekwondo. William is also a World Champion medalist from the 2022 and holds other national medals. 

Vanessa Schmidt (pictured below) is a black tag in ITF Taekwondo but will be advancing to a first degree black belt (🤞🏻) in November 2024. Vanessa is a double World Champion gold medalist and holding of many national and regional medals. 

Endeavour has enjoyed many successes in its short history, most recently in Belgium at the Flanders Field competition in October 2024. Students attained 10 medals and the club achieved a special award for most competitors. This was an event with 14 countries and nearly 500 competitors. Also in November 2022, a team of competitors journeyed to the open ITF world Championships in Glasgow - returning with an impressive combined tally of 20 medals including no less than five world champions!

Being a community focused group, we hold regular fun events and charity fund raising events, having raised thousands of pounds for a number of charities since we began.

The father of Taekwondo - Major General Choi Hong Hi believed Taekwondo is for all - and at Endeavour it is our mission to see that ideal come to life.
